Store Closure FAQ

Q/ What is your refund policy in stores that are closing down?  

  • Sale products purchased in store can be returned for a refund or exchange within 14 days of purchase where they are faulty.
  • Non Faulty products can be exchanged as long as in all cases a returned product must be its original state, unused and in original packaging.
  • Any orders purchased online (including online in store) can be returned for up to 14 days after your order has arrived.


Q/  Why are the prices in your closure stores different from your online website?

A/  The differences are because it is a clearance store where all the stock must go, the goods are not on promotion as per other Mothercare stores. Reductions in price are controlled at individual store level.

Q/ Can I return an item purchased in a closure store?

A/ No as all items purchased in a closure store will have the labels marked to identify where the item has been purchased so as other stores know they cant be refunded.


Q/  I need to return an item purchased before my local store was closing, what should I do?

A/  You can return your goods to any other store, please click here for our store locator to find your nearest store.


Q/  I want to return a Christmas present, but I don’t have a receipt and my local store has closed?

A/  You can exchange Mothercare branded items to any other store, for the current retail price. Please click here for our store locator to find your nearest store.


Q/  I placed an order for Collect in Store, I haven’t collected this yet but the store has now closed?

A/  When choosing Collect in Store you have 7 days to collect the order from the point it’s delivered. A closure store will attempt to call you before its closes to make alternative arrangements. If any orders are not collected they will be sent to the next nearest store. After 14 days have passed the item may no longer be available and you will need to visit the next nearest store for a refund.


Q/  I purchased a gift card, but my local store is closing, can I still use this?

A/  Yes gift cards are accepted as payment in any Mothercare store as well as our clearance stores, alternatively these can be used online at
