Mothercare Xcursion Travel System – Black Denim, Stone Safari and Khaki Twill
As a result of routine checks, we have identified that in some cases the car seat fabric does not include the correct fire retardant treatment.
The Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988 in the United Kingdom, assume that pushchairs and infant carrier car seats, could foreseeably be used in a home environment and so the Regulations apply. This means the infant carrier cover is required to have fire retardant treatment.
This does not affect the performance or operation of the Mothercare Xcursion Travel System.
We hasten to emphasise that the models in question are not defective in any way and comply fully with the European pushchair and car seat safety standards. However, as the car seat has not received the required fire retardant treatment we advise affected customers to be extra vigilant in keeping the car seat away from direct sources of fire and ignition, such as smouldering cigarettes, matches or candles.
Please note this only affects the car seat of the travel system, the Mothercare Xcursion pushchair is not affected and complies fully with the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988.
